Idea
The essential vision of the European Union on the future can be described as a “Europe of Knowledge” based on lifelong-learning of the individual.
In times of economic changes and rapid techological developments, education is an important investment and the prerequisite for personal self-realization.
The European Association for Vocational and Social Education (EBG) provides an answer to this need. It offers
- starting entrepreneurs
- employees
- companies
qualified training, further education and retraining programmes which will increase their possibilities on the European and international labour market.
Concept
The EBG was founded in 1990 in Düsseldorf as an independent and non-profit association. Co-ordinated by the umbrella organization in Düsseldorf, it is presently active in 8 legally independent associations in the federal countries of
- Brandenburg
- Saxony-Anhalt (North)
- Saxony-Anhalt (South)
- Saxony
- Thuringia
- North Rhine-Westphalia
- Berlin
- Rhineland-Palatinate
The present 31 training centres in Germany and other European countries offer an extensive spectrum of training programmes.
Qualified trainers, state-of-the-art computer labs and training facilities garantuee an efficient learning environment and high-quality training programmes as well as qualifications that are relevant for the labour market.
The technical colleges offer programmes for national official qualifications.
In some of the programmes for training and further education, it is possible to take officially recognized tests with the chambers for handicrafts. These tests lead to the respective qualifications. |

Combating the digital divide affecting the seniors:
let's cooperate in a Network for eInclusion of Seniors and Active Aging
As digital world is expanding and playing a growing part in our existence it remains primarily adapted and oriented to younger generations. Older people find themselves increasingly isolated as more services, information and activities become transformed into a digital format, being more distant and non personal.
Governments continue to invest in the development of broadband infrastructures supporting the expending use of the internet. They also try to encourage the training of users within different sub-populations, but excluded populations continue to grow as a result of factors not necessarily taken into account initially, such as ageing and immigration.
Comparing the situation in European countries, one can identify a wide variation in the ages of dependency onset as well as in the level of inclusion/exclusion of older people in digital life, their capacity to identify opportunities and benefit from them.
This project proposes to create a community/network bringing together players in the field of Seniors′ ICT Training. This community aims at influencing the development of solidarity and cohesion in the European population.
Supporting the use of new technology among the older populations through adequate training and supported by new technology based solutions it will promote:
• Active aging
• Fighting the segregation of seniors
• Facilitating longer life in their own homes
• Intergenerational communication
• Solutions development & applications
Building on the synergy between its members, this network will stimulate the transfer of knowledge and exchange of best practices as well as working groups to developand promote new ideas and solutions.
The impact of such a European Network can be much stronger than any local initiative.
Members of the Network will disseminate information in their respective countries ,valorize the network′s work and stimulate further local initiatives providing them a stage for the future development at more extensive levels.

UniTS - Università del Terzo Settore is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 1996. Among its members there are volunteer organizations, public and private institutions and local authorities. We are based in Pisa, Tuscany region. We work almost all over the country, thanks to the different local offices
Uni.TS aims at strengthening the role and improving the efficiency of the Not-for-profit Sector in Italy through the development of research and high quality training for Not-forprofit Sector’s operators
Objectives

BFI OÖ is an Upper Austrian vocational training institution that meets the new requirements of labour in the 21
st century. It has become a market leader in all forms of reentry into the job market, secondchance education and vocational qualification in health, social and other service jobs. An integrated spectrum of education and training covering all qualification levels - including university degrees - for both professional and occupational applications affords a significant edge to both single participants in training courses or seminars and to organisations, companies or special interest groups.
A choice of about 8000 programmes a year is available at 22 locations in Upper Austria in the following fields:
